As mentioned in our previous post about The Idea Book's launch and lieu of the campus tour we've mentioned in WBW Month in Review for July, Interesting.org in partnership with EntrepBuff.com and Ateneo Management of Applied Chemistry Association (MACA) will be having The Idea Book's multi-awarded author and speaker, Fredrik Haren, give a talk on Business Creativity at Ateneo de Manila University at room CTC105 on August 10, 2009, Monday, from 4:30 to 6:00pm. The event is open to the public, so if you think your organization needs a little bit of spicing up, whether it's a business, non-profit or student group, come on in and join us! I love the Philippines. But I’ve always thought that being able to experience life outside the country was very important. Specifically because when you’re in your social circle day-in and day-out, tendency is for your character to be built within that context and become like everybody else. Not that it’s bad, just that it’s not entirely good either. Biases get built-up, erroneous judgements of right and wrong emerge, complacency takes over. Anybody remember the whiny-oh-I’d-love-to-get-out-of-this-hell-hole-work-I-should-get-more-money-with-what-I’m-doing-and-yet-I-need-this-work-everybody-is-evil-except-me friend, classmate, officemate or relative? Chances are, when you’re able to get to know people from different backgrounds – economic  stature, religious opinions, ethnic cultures, intellectual and physical talents etc. - you’re brain will most likely be wired to be more open, accepting and definitely more motivated to reflect and think outside the proverbial box. Thus, EntrepBuff.com, together with Fredrik Haren of Interesting.org, will be giving you a good opportunity to “widen your horizons” this August.

Entrepreneurs can change the world video image

JD showed us this video entitled, Entrepreneurs can change the world, a few days back and I immediately thought it would be a good idea to share it with you guys as well. The video is inspirational and more. I think what's special about the video, aside from the inspirational high, is the fact that it was able to communicate the origins, humanity, and basic philosophy of what it means to be an Entrepreneur.

Mel Yeung with the Buffs and our first WBW guests image

During our shoot of Week By Week episode featuring Melissa Yeung, founder of Got Heart Foundation, last July 2, 2009, not only were we lucky enough to hear another great talk by a very inspiring young woman, but also fortunate enough to meet and share insights with like-minded people who visited us.
