Multi-awarded Author to Launch his Groundbreaking "Idea Book" with EntrepBuff.com
Submitted by KenPumped tags: events, ideas

I love the Philippines. But I’ve always thought that being able to experience life outside the country was very important. Specifically because when you’re in your social circle day-in and day-out, tendency is for your character to be built within that context and become like everybody else. Not that it’s bad, just that it’s not entirely good either. Biases get built-up, erroneous judgements of right and wrong emerge, complacency takes over. Anybody remember the whiny-oh-I’d-love-to-get-out-of-this-hell-hole-work-I-should-get-more-money-with-what-I’m-doing-and-yet-I-need-this-work-everybody-is-evil-except-me friend, classmate, officemate or relative? Chances are, when you’re able to get to know people from different backgrounds – economic stature, religious opinions, ethnic cultures, intellectual and physical talents etc. - you’re brain will most likely be wired to be more open, accepting and definitely more motivated to reflect and think outside the proverbial box. Thus, EntrepBuff.com, together with Fredrik Haren of Interesting.org, will be giving you a good opportunity to “widen your horizons” this August.
What, where and when
On August 14, 2009, Friday, 6pm at Fully Booked, Bonifacio High Street, author Fredrik Haren of Interesting.org, with the support of the EntrepBuff.com team will officially be launching The Idea Book here in the Philippines. Here are some accolades garnered by the book:
- Has sold over 200,000 copies to readers in more than 40 countries.
- Has been translated into 9 languages – including Mandarin and Japanese and soon, Filipino!
- Was recently launched in Singapore and quickly made it to the bestselling shelf of Borders, Kinokuniya and even the book shop at Changi Airport.
- When the book was launched in Japan, it made it to the top 5 on Amazon.jp’s list of best selling management books.
- During the book launch in Iceland, more than one percent of the population bought The Idea Book within a month.
- Has also been included in the recently published American book “The 100 Best Business Books of All Time: What They Say, Why They Matter, and How They Can Help You.” The Idea Book is one of only ten presented under the category “Innovation and Creativity”.
What is the Idea Book?
Besides containing an abundant collection of management insights coupled with anecdotes on creativity, innovation and inspiration, the book also doubles up as a workbook or journal with blank paging after each narrative. This enables readers to personalise their own copies by filling them with ideas and thoughts, making each copy unique.
Who is the author - Fredrik Haren?
Fredrik will definitely be catching some attention when he gets here! Great shot by the way.
Wondering how the Idea Book is the way that it is? It’s because of a genuinely interesting and very creative author, Fredrik Haren. An entrepreneur, publisher, author and speaker from Sweden who now lives in Singa¬pore, Fredrik is the founder of a creativity company called Interesting.org and has been invited to speak on creativ¬ity in over 1000 sessions to people in more than 30 coun¬tries. He was awarded “Speaker of the Year” in Sweden 2007, and was selected as one of “Sweden’s 100 most inspiring persons” by the magazine “Leva” in 2008. In 2009 he was selected as one of Sweden’s most sought-after business speakers. Fredrik has written a total of 7 books and he lectures around the world and gives speeches in more than 25 countries rang¬ing from China and Japan to the USA and Canada.
So if you’re like us, hungry to learn about new things and meet people from different origins and perspectives, join us on August 14, 2009, Friday 6pm at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street, okidoki? We’ll try and get something special for the Buffs out there, but as of the mean time, the pleasure of meeting like-minded people should suffice :)
